Rabbit in the snow

Birmingham, AL SNOW!

It is very rare to have snow in Birmingham, Alabama. The last official snow was 3 thousand three hundred and nineteen days ago or January 28, 2000. Birmingham and central Alabama received between 1 and 4 + inches. Here are a few photos I took today on the eastern side of Birmingham. This is the East Lake and Roebuck area. There was 3 inches in my yard!.

ABC33/40 stayed on the air over 8 hours with live photos and radar updates. Yes, if you live up north, you will be laughing at us. We may not see another flake of snow for years, so this was a big event.

Trailer accident in Birmingham, AL

Trailer was traveling south bound on I59, went air borne crossed Willow Lane and the cab made it back up to the north bound lane. The driver was cut from the cab and taken to the hospital. This was about a 1/2 mile from exit 134, Roebuck Parkway.

Rocky and Gouda

Nola is a OLS and blog reader and she sent these cute photos. She wrote:

It is my son’s dogs. The one with the haloween costume is half poodle and half pug. The one in the background in one of the pics. is a full blooded put. She is about 9 years old now. His name is Rocky. The one in the background is Gouda. She has always been the one they put in costumes. This year Rocky got it and she looked so happy in the background. I told my son she was sayin My God, I am so glad they have found someone else to go thru this degredation instead of me. Thanks, Nola

The 100 pound RAT!

On a short weekend vacation the Smoky Mountains I stopped at this exhibit. I usually pass up exhibits, but the 100 pound rat got the best of me. I told Lisa we need to go see the rat, but she did not want to. Well she went and ended up feeding the rat! I lost the owners card, if he will E-mail me, I will post his web site.

I sure hope I don’t see one of these snakes in my backyard!

Halloween at Babe’s

Halloween at Howard Johnston on Kingston Pike in Knoxville Tennessee.

Some scary folks traveled over 300 miles for the party. Babe’s lounge in the motel is a great place to party. They have a great Halloween party and New Years Eve party. Well, really they have a great party every night. The band Spellbound has been there for years. You will not get cold going to the bar because all rooms are indoors. The rooms are clean and price reasonable. Staying there beats a DUI! The Smoky Mountains are only an hour drive. I love the mountains, but I hate to stay there due to the traffic.

Monty is the late night cook and he serves food very late. He will take your order from your table and bring it to you. He gives high quality service.

Most of the waitresses have been there for years and because they enjoy their job, it becomes a very fun place. Laurie was our waitress Halloween night and she was very busy, but we got excellent service. If you get Laurie, be careful, she will get you drunk even if she is busy!! I blamed it all on her!
