Face Book: Maybe it’s just me, but I am not a fan of cryptic messages.

Maybe it’s just me, but I am not a fan of cryptic messages. You know … those little short one-liners that people post as their status on Facebook. Here, let me give you an example …

“Could just put my face in my hands and cry.” You can tell right away that they’re looking for a response because they want to talk about what’s happening in their life at that particular moment, and apparently they don’t care WHO picks up and runs with this ball, just so long as someone gets it started, but that someone is NOT gonna be me. If you’re going to make me dig for the rest of the information, it had best be worth every minute of my time! Nope, I guess I’m just not your girl. Don’t get me wrong. I can be just as sympathetic and compassionate as anyone, and will gladly be your BFF if that’s what you need, but please don’t drag me into this stupid silly game of asking all the questions. If you want to talk, then put some information out there. The first comment that ran through my mind when I saw “Could just put my face in my hands and cry” was “Oh boy! A pity party! What time and where??”

If you aren’t going to post something that people can actually understand and respond intelligently to, then just don’t post at all, okay?! Don’t post something that no one can make heads or tails out of, that doesn’t make sense except to anyone but you, and certainly isn’t even a complete sentence! I will scroll past every single time. Next time I may just hit *like*!
