Written by Ed on February 23, 2011 – 11:00 pm -

Who says you can’t fix Washington’s overspending problems, inattention to constitutional limits on power and political pet programs like funding of left-wing media and the biggest abortion provider in the world?

There’s one bill that will be voted on soon in Washington that could bring an end to it all, says the organizer of a national grass-roots lobbying campaign catching fire, and only House Republicans are needed to make it a reality.

Stunner! Supremes to give eligibility case another look

Written by Ed on February 21, 2011 – 11:00 pm -

In a stunning move, the U.S. Supreme Court has scheduled another “conference” on a legal challenge to Barack Obama’s eligibility to occupy the Oval Office, but officials there are not answering questions about whether two justices given their jobs by Obama will participate.

The court has confirmed that it has distributed a petition for rehearing in the case brought by attorney John Hemenway on behalf of retired Col. Gregory Hollister and it will be the subject of a conference on March 4.

Riots spread across Libya overnight
2/15/11
Riots have broken out in Libya following demands to release a local Human Rights activist from jail.

According to local reports some 500 – 600 protesters clashed with police on Tuesday night. Around 14 people were believed to have been hurt, the majority of them being officers.

The riots took place in Benghazi, in the east of the country. A local Benghazi resident said “Last night was a bad night, there were about 500 or 600 people involved. In response to the protests the government has agreed to free 110 prisoners, members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting group.

The country’s controversial leader Mummar Gadaffi.
has ruled Libya for over 40 years. Recent revolutions in neighboring Egypt and Tunisia appear to be having an effect on the country notorious for its strict regime.
Protests hit Yemen

SANAA: Rocks and batons flew in central Sanaa on Monday as pro-democracy protesters clashed violently with police and supporters of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Protests Continue in Algeria
2/15/11
In Algeria opposition leaders planned a second protest march on Friday in the capital despite a long-standing ban on demonstrations, and France called on Algiers to allow anti-government protests to take place freely and without violence. However, some parts of Algiers faced major protests during the day.
Protests turn violent in Bahrain
2/17/11
Police in the Gulf island kingdom of Bahrain attacked demonstrators camped out in the capital on Thursday, killing three, in a move to stifle pro-democracy protests inspired by similar movements across the Middle East.
“They are killing us!” one man told Reuters as police firing teargas and buckshot moved on Pearl Square in Manama around 3 am (midnight London time), dispersing some 2,000 people.

Jordan’s King Abdullah has fired his cabinet and appointed a new government, yet daily protests continue.
. The Hashemite Kingdom nervously watches the instability in Egypt and worries if it will spread to itself.
. Will the new government successfully implement urgent economic reforms?

Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party is more vulnerable than it has been in years. The most telling whisper of the regime’s fragility comes from the tea stalls that line the streets of Khartoum.
At least seven killed in Somalia
2/14/11
At least seven people were killed in Mogadishu Monday after clashes broke out between pro-government Sufi sect militants and Al-Qaeda linked Islamists.
“I saw five civilians who died in the crossfire, three of them were killed after a heavy artillery shell struck a house in Bakara market, eight others were also injured in the same neighborhood,” witness Hussein Wardhigley said.
Monday’s fighting was the heaviest in the capital in weeks.
It is becoming more obvious that even countries such as Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt who have been at least semi-friends with Israel are now turning against them. Israel is now swimming in a sea of hostility. But that is in harmony with predictions of the Biblical Prophets. These nations will find out that Jerusalem is an “immovable rock”.
