It’s the only way to look at it…

The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes AZ’s new immigration laws. Arizona’s Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver’s criticism of the new law:

“What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn’t be ejected.
Furthermore, what if Suns’ ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?”
-Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer

Wonderful analogy! She appears to be smarter than others give her credit!

    not really she is just punking out. she does want to offend the business that hire the illegals. she is a moral coward. In my opinion.

    at least she IS dealing with the issue, I am at a loss trying to think of any other elected official who has even done that much. Cracking down on the businesses that hire illegals only adresses one part of the problem. In my view it only goes after the ones that are trying to earn something not get something for nothing. The drug dealers, gang members, and free loaders are the ones who don’t “work” here and are the biggest part of the problem.

    what troubles me most about all the brouhaha over the AZ law is that, in the law, there is no punishment or sanction for any immigrants that are here legally, only those that cannot show that they have been legally admitted;

    there is an interesting news piece out of Atlanta regarding the “OTM” classification of illegal border crossers ["Other than Mexican"] and the government has, in fact, stopped reporting these details when it became clear that literaly hundreds of illegals from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan and so on were coming into the US through Latin America; a GA Congressman on the committee charged with investigating the illegal immigration situation had never even seen such a report and did not know of its existence

    as the news commentator said, “They aren’t coming here to mow our lawns”; we have a wide open back door, and it is being used to allow these illegals access to our country without being screened

    we must stop this illegal infusion; keep legal immigration open, and in fact, increase it because it has been the enrochment of our country, but make sure that all those who are coming into this country are doing so legally; those who want jobs can get them, coming into the country legally; those who are coming into the country with evil and malicious intent will at least be slowed and made to manufacture some kind of cover story

    so far as fining companies that are found to be hiring illegals, do it, but also punish the governmental agencies that are providing services and subsistence to illegals as well; to my mind, any government employee that renders a service to an applicant without PROOF of legal entry and full entitlement should be terminated immediately, and if the government can’t be expected to verify such status, how can we expect businesses [especially small businesses] to do so?

    Catzilla is there anyone in this world you like besides your conceited self. I don’t know where you got all your twisted education or idea making at but it is very obvious you have a very high opioion of yourself and your opinion and none for anyone else. I happen to like Sara Palin and Gov. Brewer. I think they are fine christian women. (That would be against them in your mind) I feel like at least they are standing up for what they believe would help this country. When you gonna start doing that. I honestly believe you only want to tear our country down thru the degredation of others and that is not what our beloved America stands for.

    Hmm Nola. I could be a good christian like the folks at Westboro church or the puritans who like to set people on fire. as far as being a christian or not it is other folks issue not mine dont care, want to , just dont. I judge people by their actions only. if you are a good person great. I do like to argue with friends of mine whom dont think like I do. I find it fun. now Sarah has shown the context of her character, So people like empty headed folks. well that is ok , but dont inflict them on the rest of us. the ONLY GOD a large group of people pray to is the money GOD. I wonder Nola if you would like this country to be a theocracy? you know with good christian folks running everything. but what kind of christian? I have known Baptist, Mormon, and attended a few pentecostal churches. and met some good folks and I have met bad people. Hmm just like real life. do I want them telling me what I can and cannot do. NO, this is America. until it changes back to Amerika, you will just have to see how this ends, just like any story, or do you burn books?

    I see that you talk and think more like the People from Westboro church. They are not true christians. They are fanatic Zealots. You seem to talk like you lean to the Atheist direction or you talk like you believe the way they do. They can tell the whole world to get off and they are supposed to do it. That is SICK. As far as empty heads go in government.
    I suggest you go up to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and look at the man of the house. Then you will know what an air head it. I don’t think Sarah wants to be president not this time anyhow. I think she is more intuned to get us some decent people in congress and the senate and then we got 2 more years to get rid of his royal nothingness.

    Have a good Sunday wondering what the other people that love God and their fellow men and country are doing!!!!

    thank you I will have a good Sunday. I dont believe like you do that some so called righteous people have the right to tell me or anyone else what to do with their lives. the Folks at Westboro would if given the chance turn me into a candle. I dont want any religion in the government. I dont think it has any business it government affairs. and if you believe in the Constitution it also have no room for any one religion. it is welcoming for all. everyone’s faith is for them to deal with on their on terms. the Westboro folks think they are good Christians, So where is the test for who is a good christian? now the founding fathers after the British screwed them over and then they wanted some representation for the taxes they paid. well the rest is history. now I know most people dont like zealots, well how about Newt (do as I say not as I do) Gingrich, him and his family values? most of the conservatives fell he embodies the conservative way. and you are right about Sarah, she likes being a celebrity, and she has no common sense I feel. contrary to what you may think, I do wish no ill will on anyone. I do think that people that are so focused on stupid thinks and are not looking at the big picture. the republicans in congress and the senate are afraid that any thing that would happen under O would be good and would make any of their arguments or their thoughts wrong.
