Dear Congressman Mitchell,

This was a reply to Congressman Mitchell. The letter was a normal long winded liberal letter but the reply had to be posted.

Dear Congressman Mitchell,

I appreciate your personalized response to my last email on this subject.
You wrote “Doing nothing is not an option”. Clearly, your parents did not instill the same values that mine insisted on. I attended a private school and woe to me if I handed in an assignment just to have it done. “IF IT’S WORTH DOING, IT’S WORTH DOING RIGHT” was the rule. I believe that is a rule worth living by. To simply “do something” should not have been an option.
Taking the time to get it right is much more important than just tossing out a 2000 page piece of legislation that is full of God knows what!

As for the CBO and cost estimates, I’ve never worked in Washington, but I can still tell you without one shred of hesitation that never in the history of Washington has anything ever come in anywhere near the first cost estimates. Quite honestly Washington has failed on every social program ever instituted. The impending bankruptcy of both Social Security and Medicare is a prime example of the ability of the government to run a program. This bill cuts Medicare at a time when the Medicare rolls are increasing by about 30% as Baby Boomers retire. That is unconscionable.
Add the recent government report about cutting mammograms for women under 50 and over 74, and there is the proof that this is not in the best interest of anyone I know.

The bottom line is, I will not vote for anyone who has voted for this poorly written, gigantic health care legislation. That’s really all I have to say on the subject. I can not be swayed. My cousin in San Francisco, who attended the fund raiser Mr. Obama had when he was campaigning, is planning on voting for any Republican candidate in 2010. She is a recent breast cancer survivor and has never voted for a Republican in her life, but she has made it very clear that she will vote for anyone who will stop Obama.

To quote a joke… WE NEED THIS OBAMACARE LEGISLATION ABOUT AS MUCH AS NANCY PELOSI NEEDS A HALLOWEEN MASK.
