McCain & Palin, in my mind, would have been a thousand times better than Obama and the rest of his lying staff. Name one thing that he and his staff has done good for our country. Since we were born, have you ever remember as many people rejecting a president as much as Obama and staff? If McCain did nothing at all, it would still be better than all the damage Obama has already accomplished.

Charlie has some good points as usual, but I'm not sure I agree that Obama himself has truly sinister intentions. He strikes me as the sort of guy who's been told all his life by others seeking to use him for their own ends that he's the Great One who will fix everything as long as he does what they tell him to. Point being, he's a distraction so that the guys who made him can get what they want--de facto absolute power vis a vis controlling critical resources and infrastructure--while everyone's looking elsewhere. After all, if people are arguing about whether Obama is the messiah or the antichrist they're not asking what exactly happened in Detroit, or where that $10 trillion in new spending went to. And they're certainly not asking the tough ones like what's up with George Soros--the currency trader who bankrolls many left-wing groups--quietly coming out of retirement in 2008 to make over a billion dollars during the recession.

If Republicans want to do anything about this they need to clean up their own house first. It's hard to sell the GOP, or conservatism in general, when most of the leadership and key players are RINOs who are totally fine with big, bloated bureaucracies as long as there's enough flag-waving and social-issue litmus tests to keep the public distracted. Seriously, if McCain and Palin are the best the party can come up with they deserved to lose in 2008, and to continue to do so until the RNC gets a clue. While I feel that Bush hasn't gotten a fair shake in general, there's no question his "compassionate conservatism" on domestic issues has convinced a whole generation--mine, that was too young to have truly experienced Reagan--that Republicans are basically just like Democrats except they're in bed with corrupt corporate executives rather than corrupt union bosses and special interests of dubious motivation.
