Chuck’s blog almost ended with his death.

My girlfriend and I just left a restaurant and we drove over the Interstate to turn left onto the ramp. I had been sitting at the light for about 45 seconds when I looked in my mirror. WOW, a very large pickup truck was approaching at a high rate of speed. I think he saw me at the same time I saw him/her. I quickly pulled up about ten feet just in time for him/her to pass me in the grass on the right side. He could not have missed me by more than a couple of feet. If I had not looked in my mirror, I might not be here today.

Was it defensive driving or luck? I will say luck.

Ever since the police chase in Roebuck and a man died, I now always look both ways at a green light.
