I sent Carol an E-mail tonight about my blog and yes, she answered on Christmas Eve! She also said her dog was a little under the weather and I asked her to send me a photo.

Carol wrote: “She is 11-1/2 years old, half Newfoundland and half Labrador, which makes her an extremely elderly lady — Newfies usually don’t live more than about 10 years. Along with advancing years come arthritis, restricted ability to move, and weight gain. Yes, she’s pudgy, but we love her anyway. She’s the sweetest, most affectionate dog I’ve ever been privileged to share my home with.”

Pigeon poop plunge wins New Yorker six million dollars

A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT AST TONIGHT.

A STRONG AREA OF LOW PRESSURE JUST EAST OF THE SOUTH END OF KODIAK ISLAND CONTINUES TO PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE ISLAND. THE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE MORE PREVALENT WEST OF KODIAK CITY OVER INLAND AREAS AND ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE ISLAND.

NORTHEAST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH WILL ACCOMPANY THE SNOW. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING AGAIN EARLY THIS EVENING ALONG GULF COAST REGIONS OF THE ISLAND AND BLIZZARD
CONDITIONS WILL INCREASE AGAIN OVER MUCH OF THE ISLAND OUTSIDE OF KODIAK CITY.

NORTHWEST WINDS COULD GUST AS HIGH AS 80 MPH THROUGH CHANNELED TERRAIN THIS EVENING…AND WIND DAMAGE IS POSSIBLE AS WELL. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 20 INCHES IS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING WITH THE LOWEST AMOUNTS ALONG THE GULF COAST. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO TAPER TONIGHT WITH BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ASING…ALTHOUGH THE NORTHWEST WINDS WILL ONLY SLOWLY SUBSIDE AND SOME BLOWING SNOW IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST INTO CHRISTMAS DAY.

A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND VISIBILITIES TO NEAR ZERO ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS…MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ALL TRAVEL AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITY IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
