Does Joe not understand he is illegal? Joe, could I go to Mexico, take a job and send money back to the USA?

Seems to me that Mr. Breland could invest some of his $750 million in getting his workers legal- they are not good workers because they are illegal, but because they are good workers; so help them stay and help himself in the process; build loyalty from your workers, reduce the illegal problem and get good labor on your condo all at once– as for Joe, I agree with the above comment– illegal is illegal; if you want to stay, get “right” with the system

Boo Hoo, my heart friggin bleeds for the illegals…I DON’T THINK SO!
If they are illegal, they don’t belong here! I am a recent graduate of a fine state college. I have a 3.3 GPA and I have been looking for a job-any job for six months. Meanwhile, illegals are taking jobs that citizens can do and illegals are lowering the standard of living for everyone by working for cheap. A nearby city raided a factory and arrested 12 illegals. You know who applied for their jobs the NEXT day…that’s right; citizens who couldn’t get the jobs before since illegals took them. However, you can bet the ACLU will jump all over this since the poor beleaguered illegals can’t send money to Mexico anymore; boo hoo.

I agree with the Sheriff conducting raids BUT the other shoe is — what about the people doing the hiring ?? Are they not at fault also? Those people should be arrested and processed as LAW BREAKERS !! Most probably they are doing the hiring knowing those people are “illegals”.
Comment above by Bonnie — if there were 12 jobs available, why didn’t those “citizens” apply for them previously ?

luis98sm… I agree business owners should not knowingly hire illegal immigrants. If the illegal has a fake green card, then the business owner is not to blame.

To Luis98m: The citizens did not apply for the jobs earlier since they were taken by the illegals. Once the citizens found out there were now 12 openings, it drew about one hundred applicants; all U.S. Citizens. Employers dont’ have to have an ad in the paper to advertise for illegals…it spreads by word of mouth among them that a certain place is hiring them. This is how they get hired. We have a huge problem with illegals here since business owners advertized at the border there were all sorts of jobs here…no, this is NOT a rumor.

chuck, I agree with you, however IF we wanted to we could make cards like money, that they could not copy, and that would help the employer.

If you were permitted to go to Mexico and get a job, you would be lucky to make enough money to live on, there would be nothing left to send home. The wide difference in the earnings between Mexico and the US is the main reason for illegals to come to the US.

Rog1999, while you do have a valid point in terms of earnings, it is NAFTA that collapsed the peso to a level of unsustainability. NAFTA effectively put corn farmers in Mexico out of business. The strange thing today is the peso is still dropping in value. In fact, Mexico is now attractive to China, to the point that Chinese businesses are relocating to Mexico to set up shop there. How did this happen? Thank those who supported NAFTA, and all the other rotten trade laws we know have.

BRAVO maybe Hell yes is a “better” word choice. I live in South Florida after Hurricane Wilma my wife and I made it a point to ask roofer contractors if their labor was legal? We “found” a guy who said his people were…. showed me documentation… and GUESS WHAT….???? his was the second lowest BID we received to replace our roof…. (he did replace our roof and w ARE satisfied) How much is cheap labor with LOWER cost quotes and HOW MUCH is over-priced quotes where the contractor makes XXXXX Dollars with cheap illegal labor?
I WISH that The Plam Beach County Sheriffs Office had the SAME guts to enforce CURRENT laws…. I ONLY wonder if the Fed’s followed through and sent the people caught BACK?
